Andy Warhol's Pop Art

Andy Warhol was an iconic figure in American art history. He and his fellow artists inspired and popularized the concept of pop art. Warhol’s Coca-Cola bottles, Campbell soup cans, and triadic color paintings of Marilyn Monroe are well-known among people around the world who are not even frequent visitors to art museums. In this project, I adopted Warhol’s triadic colors style into my work. The original picture was taken in the summer of 2017 when I visited a historical site in Shanghai, China, and serendipitously found this clever and beautiful creature. This piece celebrates both Warhol’s timeless style and cats’ mysterious beauty.

Beauty in the eyes of the beholder.

Got bored and started drawing on iPad
It took me 5 seconds to take the photo and it took my 5+ hours to convert it into a drawing. Swipe left for the reference photo I took in Huangshan, China 2016 🌳🍃
